Emotions in Pink – Portrait Photography
The Soroptimist International Club of St. Gallen/Appenzell is hosting the Swiss Union’s traveling exhibition on breast cancer at the open space of the open art museum in St. Gallen.
Exhibition
Emotions in Pink features women who want to raise awareness of breast cancer through their faces. After all, behind every illness is a person and a life filled with family, friends, passions, careers, and vocations. Illness affects not only the body, but one’s entire life and social circle. Through photographic portraits, these women introduce themselves to us, sharing their stories of fear and uncertainty, but also of courage, hope, and the power of human connection.
Take Krista, for example: She finds the strength to navigate this journey by helping others through her blog, where she shares her experiences. We all know someone who has been affected by this. One in eight women is diagnosed with breast cancer. Emotions in Pink is a symbol of solidarity with all women affected by breast cancer. The exhibition raises awareness about the importance of early detection and equal access to breast cancer screening, which is not yet a given in all cantons of Switzerland. It invites visitors to look, listen, and engage in conversation with one another.
The exhibition can be seen during the regular opening hours of the open art museum, St.Gallen in the open space in the foyer. Admission to the exhibition is free.
Opening
To mark International Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October 2026, the Soroptimist International Club of St. Gallen/Appenzell cordially invites you to the exhibition opening on October 1 at 6:00 p.m.
