Das open art museum befindet sich rund 8 Gehminuten vom Bahnhof St.Gallen entfernt. Biegen Sie vom Bahnhofplatz nach Südwesten Richtung St. Leonhard-Strasse ab. Nach rund 140 Metern biegen Sie erneut rechts ab um auf die St. Leonhard-Strasse zu gelangen. Nach dem kleinen Park können sie links auf die Pestalozzistrasse abbiegen und dieser bis hoch zur Davidstrasse folgen. Dort können Sie rechts abbiegen und der Strasse bis zur Hausnummer 44 folgen. Der Eingang zum Foyer des open art museums befindet sich auf der rechten Seite im Hochparterre.

Der Autobahn A1 folgen und die Ausfahrt 81 Gallen/Kreuzbleiche/Zentrum/Appenzell nehmen. Den linken Fahrstreifen benutzen, um die Auffahrt Richtung Appenzell zu nehmen. Nach etwa 600 Meter den zweiten Fahrstreifen von rechts benutzen, um rechts auf St. Leonhard-Strasse abzubiegen (Schilder nach Altstätten/Appenzell). Direkt nach der Brücke links abbiegen um auf der St. Leonhard-Strasse zu bleiben. Anschliessend rechts auf die Pestalozzistrasse abbiegen. Fahren Sie an der kommenden Kreuzung gerade aus, dann befindet sich der Eingang zur Tiefgarage auf ihrer rechten Seite.

Für Parkmöglichkeiten empfehlen wir das das Parkhaus an der Pestalozzistrasse, welches ebenfalls zum Lagerhaus-Gebäudekomplex gehört. Es bietet 59 Parkplätze die 24h und 7 Tage die Woche an der Vadianstrasse 57 zugänglich sind. In der Nacht lässt sich das Tor mit dem Parkticket öffnen.

Zudem befinden sich Parkplätze an der Davidstrasse, davon ein barrierefreier Parkplatz direkt vor unserem Haupteingang.

Der Haupteingang zum Museum verfügt über eine Treppe mit Geländer. Der Kassenbereich befindet sich auf dem Zwischengeschoss. Für Personen im Rollstuhl empfiehlt sich der Zugang über den Innenhof (an der Ecke Geltenwilerstrasse und Davidstrasse). Dort gibt es eine breite Rampe, von der Sie barrierefrei zur Kasse gelangen. Rufen Sie uns unter +41 71 223 5857 an, wenn Sie über den Hinterhof kommen – dann öffnen wir Ihnen die Tür.

Im Foyer gibt es eine unbeaufsichtigte Garderobe und Schliessfächer. Sprechen Sie dafür unser Personal an.

Der Eintritt für Begleitpersonen ist frei.

Die Ausstellungsräume selbst befinden sich im 1. Stock. Diese erreichen Sie mit dem Lift. Die Räume in der Ausstellung sind, bis auf das Kabinett, für Rollstühle und Kinderwagen barrierefrei.

Eine Toilette für Menschen mit Behinderungen befindet sich im 1. OG (Treppenhaus). Sie ist über den Lift mit Begleitpersonen zugänglich. Alternativ und wenn möglich begleitet Sie gerne jemand von unserem Team.

Assistenzhunde sind im open art museum willkommen und dürfen mit in die Ausstellung.

Händy (Museum Game)

The Händy is a museum game specially developed for the open art museum. It consists of different materials held together by a metal ring with associated questions and game ideas. The children can thus embark on an exciting and fun-filled journey of discovery through our museum.

Do you want to play along? You can borrow a Händy free of charge at the cash desk in our museum.

Galery

The open art museum offers the opportunity to realize your own exhibitions in the gallery area of the museum foyer, the “open space“. Are you an artist from St. Gallen or the surrounding area and would like to exhibit your art with us?

We welcome applications sent by email to info@openartmuseum.ch.

Your event at the open art museum

If you would like to use the unique atmosphere of the open art museum as the setting for a private, public or business event, we would be happy to make our foyer available to you outside the museum’s opening hours.eums gerne zur Verfügung.

The ‘open space’ (the museum foyer) can accommodate 50 people (with seating) or 100 people (without seating) and comprises a ticket office, a kitchen, a bookshop and a seating area. Lockers and a cloakroom are available outside the foyer.

The open art museum is dedicated to preserving and promoting Swiss naïve art, Art Brut and outsider art by both deceased and living artists. In doing so, it focuses on works from the fringes of the art world and by self-taught artists, who are often, in many respects, boundary-crossers themselves.

To round off your event, you can book a guided tour of our current exhibitions. You can find detailed information about the venue and the technical facilities here.

Room hire fee for 3 hours: CHF 400.-
For each additional hour: CHF 100.-

If you wish, we can organise the aperitif for you with the catering of your choice. We traditionally obtain our wines (from organic cultivation) from Delinat.
