Museumsnacht strahlt

A special evening is about to come to life: St. Gallen Museum Night will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2026. For two decades, museums and exhibition spaces have been opening their doors for a night filled with art, culture, history, nature, and encounters. This year, too, the participating venues invite you to discover spaces in a new light, experience surprising events, and be inspired by special moments. Whether you’re curious, in awe, playful, or just going with the flow—this night brings people together and highlights the city’s cultural diversity.

Light Lab with Recycled Materials: Making the open art museum shine with colors, light, and shadows
Starting at 6:00 p.m.

In this interactive workshop, we’ll experiment with materials from the OFFCUT material market’s collection, create a magical landscape, immerse ourselves in a world of light, color, and shadow, and bring the open art museum to life with colorful images and lettering. For teens, families, and anyone interested. In cooperation with gemeinsam-wirkt.

Wordplay with Poetry Slammer Mia Ackermann
At 7:00 p.m. / 9:00 p.m.

Poetry slam is the art of playing with language. In her texts, slammer Mia Ackermann blends poetry and prose with subtle wordplay and sharp rap verses. Her voice lights up her audience and leaves a lasting impression long after Museum Night has ended.
Mia Ackermann was twice the U20 Poetry Slam runner-up in Switzerland, became the 2024 German-language Poetry Slam team runner-up, and co-founded the feminist reading group Kollektiv Kitzeln in Bern.

A Quick Tour of the “Komm Glüückck” Exhibition
At 8:30 p.m. / 10:30 p.m.

With “Komm Glüückck” the open art museum brings together works in which words and images are closely intertwined. Poems, reflections, greetings, typographic works, picture stories, and conceptual works reveal how words become images or enhance them.

An accompanying exhibition is dedicated to Adelheid Duvanel, one of the most influential Swiss fiction writers of the 20th century, whose drawings and paintings are being shown in their entirety for the first time.

Ticket: CHF 24 (50% discount for KulturLegi holders and IV recipients; children and teens under 16 get in free). The ticket grants admission to all participating institutions.
